What is the plot of Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga?
Master filmmaker George Miller returns to the legendary dystopian universe he created, which began with the first Mad Max in 1979 that starred Mel Gibson. After two sequels in the ‘80s, the franchise took a hiatus that lasted three decades, only making a loud, electrifying comeback with 2015’s Mad Max: Fury Road starring Tom Hardy and Charlize Theron.
With Furiosa’s character introduced in Fury Road, Miller shifted his focus to delving into the imperator’s backstory. An iconic character with so much more to unpack – her origins, her motivations, and the harrowing experiences she survived – all of which will comprise the young Furiosa’s intrepid odyssey.
Taken from her home, the Green Place of Many Mothers, and separated from her mother, the young Furiosa finds herself at the mercy of a warlord named Dementus. Journeying through the Wasteland, they reach the Citadel with Immortan Joe already catapulted as its vicious leader. As Dementus and Immortan Joe battle for dominance, Furiosa has another plan of her own – fight everyone to return home.

Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga is directed by George Miller from a screenplay he co-wrote with Nico Lathouris. MIller is also a producer alongside Doug Mitchell. Golden Globe-winning actress Anya Taylor-Joy was chosen for the role of the young Furiosa, played by Charlize Theron in Mad Max: Fury Road. Playing the main antagonist in the film is Warlord Dementus, portrayed by Marvel star Chris Hemsworth.
The cast of Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga also includes Alyla Browne as young Furiosa, Tom Burke as Praetorian Jack, Lachy Hulme as Immortan Joe, Nathan Jones as Rictus Erectus, John Howard as The People Eater, Angus Sampson as The Organic Mechanic, Charlee Fraser as Mary Jo Bassa, Furiosa’s mother, Josh Helman as Scrotus, and Elsa Pataky as Mr. Norton.
