Watch select Sydney Swans games on Channel Seven and 7Mate
The Seven Network, better known as Channel 7, is the official AFL free to air broadcaster and will show a select number of Sydney Swans matches live during the 2024 Premiership season.
That’s because under the current AFL broadcasting agreement, channel Seven could only secure up to five live games a week, and in many rounds the number of matches they will televise live is actually four or less.
The reason for this is because Seven is required to air all Thursday evening and Monday afternoon games, and when that occurs, it causes fewer matches to be televised on the weekend.
Additionally, the games airing live on Seven will not be available to stream as simulcasts on 7Plus. 7Plus will only be showing replays of the games that were televised on Seven.
As a consolation of sorts, channel Seven will carry of every game of the Finals live, and they have exclusive TV and streaming rights to the 2024 AFL Grand Final.
A Key exception to Seven’s normal broadcast schedule would be that all games featuring a non-Victorian team are to be televised live in the state where that team resides, during which 7 or 7Mate would simulcast Foxtel’s coverage. Keep in mind that this rule applies only to the television markets in New South Wales, South Australia, Western Australia, and Queensland.
