While there are plenty of basketball enthusiasts in Australia, men’s events tend to get the most attention. Nevertheless, women’s basketball can be just as exciting, with outstanding players and thrilling action to keep you gripped to your television.
Foxtel, Kayo Sports, and Nine are women’s basketball programming leaders, with various games broadcast live on TV and online. Here’s a simple breakdown of how to stay up to date on this season’s WNBL games.
WNBL 2024 TV Broadcast rights
The Women’s National Basketball League (WNBL) is Australia’s oldest female sports tournament. The current edition kicked off on 1 November, 2023, and the regular season will conclude on 24 February, 2024.
The semi-finals and final will begin in late February, and wrap up with the Grand Final on 13 March, 2024
Every game of the WNBL women season (women playoffs, semi-finals, grand finals) is broadcast live in Australia, with matches shown on a variety of channels.
This is because a broadcast contract was reached three years ago with Nine, Foxtel and Kayo Sports, and an 84-game season schedule was confirmed shortly after. Those TV rights will remain in effect here in 2024
