The highly anticipated Watchmen series has finally arrived on Australian screens. The first season is a sequel to the DC comics by Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons and focuses on rising racial tensions in Tulsa, Oklahoma, 34 years after the events of the original narrative.
Watchmen Season 1 TV Preview
When Alan Moore (V For Vendetta, Swamp Thing) first created Watchmen, he could never have imagined that the comics would first be created into a successful film and now a TV series. Although not directly based on the original story, this 10 episode season has plenty of references to previous characters that should appease seasoned fans.
The story centres on rising racial tension in Tulsa, Oklahoma, with a white supremacist group hell-bent on killing police, so much so that officers choose to wear masks to cover their real identities. Detective Angela Abar (Regina King) is sent to investigate the motives of the fascist organisation and discover who is responsible for the murder of one of her closest colleagues.
Starring Regina King (Ray), Jeremy Irons (Justice League), Don Johnson (Miami Vice), and Tim Blake Nelson (The Incredible Hulk), the much anticipated Watchmen Season 1 has arrived in Australia, and using this TV guide you won’t have to miss a key moment.
