HBO’s acclaimed drama just concluded with Succession Season 4 launching early last year. During its four-season run, the spectacular American drama has never failed to blow us away with compelling characters and shocking twists, every season finale leaving us with a cliffhanger ending.
If you haven’t seen the series finale yet, the fourth season is still available to stream on demand Australia. Find out what fate has in store for Logan Roy, his complicated successors, and how handing off his media empire has proven to be a messy familial battle, sort of like House of the Dragon but in suits.
What’s in this Guide?
What to expect in Succession Season 4?
Succession is a hit US drama series about the Roy family, headed by patriarch Logan Roy (Brian Cox), an ageing media mogul (loosely based on Rupert Murdoch). Penned by renowned British screenwriter Jesse Armstrong, the story revolves around how the Roy family members ruthlessly battle each other to rise to the top of Waystar RoyCo, after Logan Roy steps down.
At the end of Succession Season 3, the Roy siblings and their chances of succession are jeopardised after Logan decided to sell the company to Lukas Matsson’s digital savvy media company GoJo behind his children’s back. While Kendall, Roman, and Shiv join forces, armed with the knowledge that they have the veto over any change in company control, Logan once again outmaneuvered them by renegotiating his divorce agreement with his children’s mother, Caroline.
With the magnitude of such betrayal that transpired in the third season, what’s next for Logan Roy and his successors? And where do Shiv and Tom’s marriage stand considering it was the latter who informed Logan of his kids’ plan to block the company’s sale?
Succession Season 4 will continue the feud between Logan and his children, who are now coming together to fight their father after spending so much time battling each other for power. Major trouble is also brewing, maybe even a worse one, between Shiv and her husband Tom, who decided to betray his wife to secure his own future and gain Logan’s favour.
The TV series has been acclaimed by critics and audiences alike since it premiered in 2018. Four seasons in and you can still feel the thrill and awesome drama as every member of the Roy family makes an unexpected move against one another each time.
