For their latest major series, HBO has adapted a best selling book from one of America’s most well known novelists, Stephen King. This screen version of his bestselling supernatural thriller, The Outsider is certainly compelling viewing, and looks set to become one of the first hits of 2020.
The Outsider Season 1 TV Preview
The premise is based around the investigation into the brutal murder of a young boy in Flint, a fictional town in Oklahoma. As the investigation moves forward, it becomes apparent that a local teacher is a prime suspect. But after he comes up with a solid alibi, detectives wrestle with the realisation that he was in two places at once, which leads them to question everything they believe about reality.
The original novel was only released at the end of 2018, and the story was so intriguing that it started a bidding war between all major US production companies. The great thing about this series is that it can delve deeper into King’s unique storytelling, more so than any shortened film version, allowing the story to unfold just as the writer intended.
Starring Jason Bateman (Arrested Development), Yul Vazquez (Midnight, Texas), Cynthia Erivo (Widows) and Jeremy Bobb (Jessica Jones) the much anticipated HBO TV series The Outsider has arrived in Australia and using the information in this guide you won’t have to miss a key moment.
