Is Flow movie streaming in Australia yet?
The 2024 animated film Flow is just about to premiere in Australian cinemas. With new films taking about three months (or longer) to debut on streaming TV, it’s likely for Flow to be streaming in Australia some time in June or July. It could also take longer, depending on factors like the box-office performance.
We can, however, speculate that it will be streaming on Foxtel and Foxtel Now after its theatrical run and launch on pay per view (Apple TV, Google TV, Prime Video Store, Fetch).
In the US, Flow is available for streaming on Max. With HBO’s streamer launching in Australia on 31 March 2025, it’s very likely that Flow will be added on the service after some time. In Australia, Max will be available for subscription and as part of your Foxtel or Foxtel Now plan.
What is the plot of the Flow movie?
Flow is about a dark grey cat who navigates a world now overrun with water following an enormous flood. Coming across a boat with a capybara already on board, their journey continues while meeting other species—a lemur, a bird, and a dog— seeking refuge along the way.
Despite their glaring differences, they all team up in their collective efforts to survive, learning to trust each other and showing compassion for other species while they search for dry land. With newfound courage and adorable resourcefulness, the cat rises above every challenge brought upon by the “new world”.
This independent film is a co-production between Latvia, France, and Belgium and directed by Gints Zilbalodis, who also co-wrote the story with Matīss Kaža.
It recently won the Academy Award for Best Animated Feature, beating Inside Out 2, The Wild Robot, Memory of a Snail, and Wallace & Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl.
