David Holmes is a gymnast who played Daniel Radcliffe’s stunt double in six Harry Potter movies. During the test filming of the seventh film, an accident on set injured his spine and left him paralysed, upending his life. But while the tragedy changed the course of his life forever, Holmes somehow knew it wasn’t the end.

David Holmes: The Boy Who Lived preview
The documentary film follows David Holmes, a former actor and stunt performer who served as Daniel Radcliffe’s stunt double in Harry Potter. His work on the franchise was cut short after a shocking on-set accident critically injured his spine, leaving him in a wheelchair.
Bringing his story to the screens is Radcliffe himself, whose bond with Holmes only deepened over the years. Their friendship is an extraordinary one and Holmes’ willpower inspires not only the Harry Potter star, but everyone around him.
Holmes now takes up automobile racing via hand controls and is the co-founder of a production company that created the podcast “Cunning Stunts”, which he co-hosts with Radcliffe. David Holmes: The Boy Who Lived tells his story, his tragedy, and his persistence to live and create.
Both Holmes and Radcliffe executive produced the documentary alongside Dan Hartley, Sue Latimer, and Sarah Spahovic, with Dan Hartley directing.
