What is the plot of Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy?

In Mad About the Boy, Bridget Jones (Renée Zellweger) is alone once again after the wonderful Mark Darcy passed away four years ago during a humanitarian mission. Widowed with two children, she struggles to navigate motherhood and life in general all alone and still grieving the loss of the love of her life.

At the strong advice of her family and friends, Bridget attempts to live life again, which means also opening herself up to the possibility of new love.

This new romance arrives in the form of Mr. Wallaker (Chiwetel Ejiofor), her son’s science teacher. And because it’s Bridget, the possibility of another romance is high especially with dating apps available, where she eventually comes across a younger man, Roxster (Leo Woodall).

Speaking of romances, even Bridget’s former flame Daniel Cleaver (Hugh Grant) is back, although it’s only to help out with babysitting. It looks like the womanising Daniel has come a long way, or maybe not, we’ll have to wait and see.

Isla Fisher (Wolf Like Me) also joins the cast as Rebecca, Bridget’s new neighbour. As for Colin Firth starring in the new film, while he appeared in the trailer, it is revealed he passed away years ago.
