What is Ark: The Animated Series about?
Helena Walker is a palaeontologist on 21st century Earth. After her wife, Victoria’s sudden passing, her grief becomes unbearable that she decides to end her life with pills and alcohol. She wakes up in the middle of the ocean, realises she’s being chased by a massive shark, and washes up ashore on a primitive island.
The island, it turns out, is inhabited by dinosaurs and other prehistoric animals. Natural hazards are also ubiquitous and there are vicious warlords who will stop at nothing to get what they want. Is there a slightest chance of survival? There is if she finds allies and unleashes her inner warrior.
The screen adaptation of Studio Wildcard’s video game Ark: Survival Evolved is created by Jeremy Stieglitz and Jesse Rapczak. Voice actors featured in the series – Russell Crowe, Gerard Butler, and Vin Diesel – also serve as executive producers.
