What is A Very Royal Scandal about?

A Very Royal Scandal retells the arduous and tricky process of securing and filming the 2019 BBC television interview of Prince Andrew by Newsnight journalist Emily Maitlis, who will be played by Michael Sheen and Ruth Wilson in the series, respectively.

The infamous interview is attributed to tarnishing Prince Andrew’s reputation even more, leading to his downfall and the duke himself to resign from his public duties months after the interview.

In this 58-minute programme, Prince Andrew discussed for the first time his relationship with convicted paedophile Jeffrey Epstein, his responses heavily criticised by both the media and the public.

The new series is written by Jeremy Brock and directed by Julian Jarrold. It is produced by Amazon MGM Studios and Blueprint Pictures.
