Enjoying the range of TV shows and movies on Stan, but having troubles with the network connections? Don’t stress, as the issue can be resolved pretty quickly once you read our tips on how to troubleshoot the problem.
Owned by StreamCo, a joint venture of Nine Entertainment Co. and Fairfax Media, the streaming service offers a range of options for movie lovers and enthusiasts.
So, you already have a subscription, but the connection problem is holding you back from enjoying your favorite flicks? Here are some ways you can troubleshoot the problem and get back to enjoying your service:
Your internet connection problem may be due to a slow connection since it is one of the most common reasons for network connection issues. Here’s a small guide for people who want to view Stan and outlines the connection speed they need for certain qualities:
- You need a minimum of 1.5 Mbps for the connection to be able to stream content properly. However, at this speed you will not be able to stream HD content.
- For standard definition, you will require a connection of 2.5 Mbps
- For high definition streaming at 720p, you need a connection of 3.5 Mbps
- 6.5 Mbps will get you the best picture quality on your TV at 1080p quality.
So, make sure you have the appropriate connection to enjoy flawless viewing of your content and if you’re still having problems, contact your Internet Service Provider. If, however, you are smirking at us because you have a 10 Mbps connection, the problem may be with your router.
If this is the case, you may need to reboot your router. The refresh may do the trick for you, so unplug your router for 30 seconds after turning off the device. After switching it back on, run a speed test and try streaming the movie you want to play. If it is working fine, you have solved the problem.
If the trick doesn’t solve your problem, try to remove the router and go directly to your modem. There’s a chance your router may be faulty if you have a sufficient speed connection and yet you can’t stream your Stan service. So, connect your modem directly to your laptop or PC in the Ethernet port and wait until the computer is connected to the internet. If the problem is with your router, you should be able to play your movies and TV shows seamlessly now and won’t be facing any anymore issues.
As a last measure, also check if you are too far from the wireless router, because distance can also affect your internet connection speed. Keep your router at a height and make sure is in the center of the house where it can distribute wireless signals evenly for a better internet experience.
