What’s in this Guide?
What is the Foxtel Platinum Plus bundle?
Everything Foxtel has to offer can be found in the Platinum Plus bundle, meaning the range of genres available is pretty diverse. The entirety of the Foxtel Plus base pack is included, giving you everything from comedy to lifestyle to fashion.
Then there are the drama channels, which give you the likes of Succession, House of the Dragon, Game of Thrones and the latest season of True Detective, and movies to watch, from the latest releases to the old classics.
And that’s far from all.
The range of sport available is unmatched by any other service in the country with over 50 unique sporting codes available live and on-demand with the Sport pack, and you’ll get a bunch of world-class documentary channels with the likes of History and BBC Earth for those who prefer non-fiction.
And finally, there are the Kids channels, which boast more than enough to keep the little ones entertained for as long as you need.
Aside from the variety of content you can get with the Platinum Plus bundle, there’s also greater convenience and heightened experience when getting Foxtel’s most premium bundle.
For instance, this package also includes the Multiscreen feature, which lets you watch Foxtel on another screen with the smart TV app or casting, as well as on the Foxtel Now box through the Foxtel app.
What are the Foxtel Platinum channels?
Considering it includes literally all of Foxtel, it’s unsurprising that there’s plenty of channels available in this package. There are dozens of entertainment channels, including the likes of FOX8, Comedy, and BBC UKTV, and several drama networks – including BBC First, Classics, and Showcase – boasting some of the best TV shows from around the globe. Meanwhile, Movies Hits, Movies Greats, Movies Premiere, Movies Drama, Lifetime Movie Network, and much more will give you your movie fix.
The best in sports can be found on the seven FOX Sports channels such as Fox Footy, Fox Cricket, Fox League (there’s Fox Sports Ultra HD for those with iQ4 box and 4K TV), as well as ESPN, while Animal Planet, Sky News, BBC World News, and History will keep the more curious among you satisfied.
For sports-related current events, there’s Fox Sports News to keep you informed on the latest sporting events. And if you need to keep the kids entertained, the likes of Cartoon Network and Boomerang have you covered.
Platinum Plus also includes a standard Netflix subscription (perfect for the Netflix app that’s been added to the iQ4 or iQ5 box) for more streaming TV options. If you already have an existing Netflix account, you can still access Netflix via the iQ box and the Netflix app on your other devices.

How much does Platinum Plus cost?
As the most comprehensive package, the Foxtel Platinum Plus bundle obviously comes at a price, but you can pay significantly less than if you bundled the cost of each pack individually.
It’s all typically available for $140/month with the iQ5 set-top box with hard drive ($199) and standard connection ($35) fees waived if you sign up for 12 months, but if you’re lucky you might be able to sign up during an offer period for a significant reduction (Foxtel cancel fee applies for 12-month plans). If you want to bundle Foxtel with everything else, this is the plan for you.
No lock-in contract plans are also available for those who prefer flexible terms, however, discounts (if there were any) don’t apply and setup costs aren’t waived.

What are the Foxtel Platinum Plus alternatives?
Being Foxtel’s most premium bundle, customers may find the Foxtel Platinum Plus bundle costly at $140 per month. Fortunately, there are alternatives worth considering, which we’ve listed below.
Stream Foxtel channels on Foxtel Now
Foxtel’s streaming service, Foxtel Now, offers most of Foxtel’s programming in different channel packs. While Foxtel Plus includes premium channels like BBC First, Fox One, and Universal, they’re placed in a different Foxtel Now channel pack called Drama Extra.
Another difference is that while Foxtel calls their comprehensive bundle Platinum Plus, Foxtel Now calls it the Ultimate Bundle or the All packs. Foxtel Platinum HD costs $140/month while Foxtel Now’s Ultimate Bundle can be had for $104/month. Foxtel Now also runs special offers frequently so these prices are discounted from time to time.
Sports HD and Movies HD, however, are the same as Foxtel’s offerings. Of course, not all Foxtel channels will be on Foxtel Now. However, most of the premium channels you’d want to access like Showcase are included in Foxtel Now.
The streaming service is also a great alternative since there’s no installation required and no lock-in contract. New customers can even try all channel packs with a 10-day free trial.
Watch TV shows and movies on BINGE
If you’re only after TV shows and movies from Foxtel, streaming service BINGE offers mostly same content for a lower monthly plan fee, with a 7-day free trial for new signups.
Major shows from HBO like Succession, House of the Dragon, Euphoria, The White Lotus, as well as crime dramas from CBS like Blue Bloods and S.W.A.T. are available to stream on BINGE.
BINGE’s content library also saw some substantial update in 2023 with the addition of live news from channels such as CNN International, MSNBC and Bloomberg TV. 4K is also now available for selected content on the Standard and Premium plans.
Pricing starts at only $10 for the Basic with Ads plan, then $18 per month for Standard, and $22 for Premium.
What devices can I use with Foxtel Platinum HD?
Foxtel isn’t only available to watch directly on your TV – you can also stream it to a range of eligible devices through the Foxtel Go App, which can be downloaded for free.
Foxtel Go
To stream wherever you are, the Foxtel Go app is included in your Foxtel plan, whether that’s Foxtel Plus, Sports HD, Movies HD, Premium, or Platinum Plus. The Foxtel Go app also lets 5 devices and watch any two at the same time.

Watching Foxtel in 4K Ultra HD
Foxtel’s viewing experience got even better with the addition of two 4K channels. 4K, or Ultra HD, uses four times as many pixels as High Definition and 20 times as many as Standard Definition to create a never seen before.
If you have an iQ4 box or the new iQ5 and a 4K-compatible TV, head to Fox Sports Ultra HD to watch a range of great sports or Movies Ultra HD for some of the Foxtel’s best movies in Ultra High Definition.
Foxtel iQ5
Foxtel’s iQ4 box introduced the new Foxtel Experience where the world’s biggest TV shows like Game of Thrones, live sports (some available in 4K Ultra HD), blockbuster movies, alongside Netflix, YouTube, and catch-up TV, are all in one place.
The iQ4 box is now replaced by the new iQ5, which gives customers the option to connect via their internet connection instead of iQ4’s satellite installation setup.
