What’s in this Guide?
What is the Foxtel Drama pack?
As the name might suggest, drama is a major selling point for this pack. Technically, there’s no longer a Foxtel Drama pack since all drama and entertainment channels belong to Foxtel’s base package, Foxtel Plus. However, it’s different for Foxtel Now.
The way Foxtel Now’s packages are set up means you will first need to purchase the base Essentials pack (which includes Pop and Lifestyle channels) with the Foxtel Drama pack as an add-on, and as a result, you will also be able to tune into comedies, documentaries, reality TV, and of course, more drama.
What channels are included in the Drama Extra pack?
The majority of the Foxtel channels in this pack actually come from The Essentials pack, with the drama component of the package only including seven channels.
What channels are in the Essentials pack?
The majority of the channels you’ll get to choose from come in the base Essentials pack and include Showcase, FOX8, Arena, Boxsets, Lifestyle, Lifestyle Home, Lifestyle Food, Fox Sports News, and more.

What TV shows to watch with Foxtel Now Drama Extra?
Many of the world’s most popular TV shows are available in the Foxtel Drama pack, in addition to the content offered by The Essentials. Take a look at some of the best of them or start searching for shows to watch below:
How much does Foxtel Now Drama Extra cost?
The Foxtel Now Drama pack is one of the cheaper options available to you from Foxtel Now. Before you purchase the Drama pack as an add-on, you need to first buy the Essentials pack, which will cost you $25/month. Once you’ve done that, the Drama pack is available for just $10/month extra, for a total of $35/month. With no extra fees on top, that is a small price to pay for a whole lot of great TV from pay TV company Foxtel.
But what about if you’re on a tight budget and want some more affordable options for your drama viewing? $35/month isn’t too bad for the access you get to shows from networks like HBO – but there’s a lot of options out there that offer even better value for money – as well as shows you can’t see anywhere else. Before you sign up for the $35/month price, take a look at these much cheaper options!

What are the Foxtel Now streaming alternatives?
If you want the same Foxtel Now service while scoring some money-saving offers, you still can via Telstra. There’s also plenty of streaming TV apps vying for every user’s subscription in the country so you can rest assured that you’ll get the right one for you.
First and foremost on anyone’s list of places to head to for some of the most talked-about drama right now is, of course, streaming giant Netflix. While the world-leading streaming service got its start by streaming shows and movies made by other companies, these days they produce a huge amount of their own content, including some of the most talked-about drama shows on the planet.
From the ’80s-set adventure of Stranger Things, the devilishly dark and humorous Lucifer, there’s something for everyone and it’s all ready to stream on-demand. They even have the fan favourite Outlander – in 4K! For your convenience, there’s a Foxtel-Netflix bundle you can sign up for.
Netflix starts at $16.99 per month for an ad-free plan, but if you’re keen to spend even less, Amazon Prime Video might be just what you’re looking for. Featuring original shows like the multi-award-winning The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, thrilling action-adventure in Hanna, or dark comedy in Good Omens, there’s plenty to sink your teeth into – at only $9.99 a month, or $79 for a whole year.
Then there’s streaming service BINGE offered from $10/month (with ads), which houses most of HBO’s programming. Another popular pick at this time is Disney Plus. Costing from $13.99 each month, Disney Plus has well-known shows and movies from Disney, Marvel Pixar, Star Wars and more.
For more options, Paramount Plus is also available in Australia, combining content from the local Channel 10 and many channels from the US like CBS, Showtime, MTV, and many others.
