2019 World Cup of Rugby
The 2019 Rugby World Cup will see the top two teams from each Pool advance to the Quarter-finals starting on 19 October, with the World Cup Final being staged on 2 November. The defending champs are New Zealand, who have won the last two editions of the event.

Every match of the 2019 Rugby World Cup will be shown live and ad-break free during play, through Fox Sports and Fox Sports HD. This means you can watch the Rugby World Cup online using Foxtel Now. Foxtel, via a set-top box, is the only place where you also can enjoy every World Cup game in 4K Ultra HD, exclusively on the dedicated Foxtel 4K channel.
RWC Preview
New Zealand are undoubtedly the favourite heading into the event, the Kiwis having won the last two World Cups and the undisputed best team in the world. Though they haven’t been as dominant in recent months as they once were, they have clearly had one eye on this event for a long time and will be extremely difficult to beat throughout the tournament.
The hopes of the Wallabies’ Rugby World Cup performance in 2019 emulating those in 1991 and 1999 took a significant blow with a crushing defeat to the Kiwis in the second game of the Bledisloe Cup in August, but realists would have been skeptical about their chances even prior. They have been disappointing for the past year and recently lost their best player in Israel Folau, but they’ve been perennial semi-finalists at the World Cup and were finalists just four short years ago, so there is perhaps some reason for optimism.

What’s New in the 2019 World Cup?
In terms of representation, of the 20 countries that competed in the previous World Cup there is only one change with Russia replacing Romania, who came under some scrutiny for fielding ineligible players during qualification.
Aside from that, the tournament will run much as it did in 2015. The format is the same, with the pools being determined based on teams being placed into five different ‘bands’, and playing each other team in their respective pools on one occasion.
The location, though it changes for each tournament, is noteworthy as it will be the first time the tournament has been played in Asia. All previous editions have been played in either Europe, Oceania or South Africa.
