The 2019 Bathurst 6 Hour will be just the fourth edition of the event, but already it is making a name for itself in the Australian motor racing calendar.
Taking place over the Easter weekend, the event will see 45 cars from seven different classes fight it out for victory, and you can catch all the action from the comfort of your living room, or stream it live using a compatible mobile device.null
2019 Bathurst 6 Hour Preview
Last year’s Bathurst 6 Hour saw yet another tight finish, with Grant and Iain Sherrin ultimately taking out the event. Driving a BMW M4, the brothers grabbed the lead with just a couple of laps to go and never gave it back, going on to win by 3.3 seconds. Brett Strom and Daren Jorgensen, driving a BMW 1M, outlasted Steven Johnson, Marcel Zalloua and Robert Woods (Mercedes-Benz A45 AMG) in an exhilarating race for second, holding on by less than half a second. The top five consisted entirely of A1 Class Extreme Forced Induction cars, with the first driver in another vehicle another 1.5 seconds back.
In 2019, the Sherrins will return to defend their title, again driving their reliable BMW M4. Among the other hopefuls are Beric Lynton and Tim Leahey, who led for large portions of last year’s race only to fall out of contention after losing a wheel, and Brad Schumacher. Schumacher will be one of the 14 drivers to enter a Class A1 car, and after gaining experience at the event last year and debuting at the Bathurst 12 hour a couple of months ago, he will be hoping his Subaru Impreza can lead him to victory. The Bathurst 6 hour, sponsored by Hi-Tec Oils, will see a host of different production cars compete, so for motorsport fans, it’s an event well and truly worth tuning in to.
