Captain America: Brave New World - Release date and where to watch in Australia

Captain America: Brave New World (previously Captain America: New World Order) will be released in Australian cinemas this week. 

The fourth Captain America film introduces a new Captain America with Sam Wilson (Anthony Mackie) continuing Steve Rogers’ legacy. The events in the new film are a continuation of the Disney+ miniseries The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. Overall, Captain America: Brave New World is the 35th movie in the ever-expanding Marvel Cinematic Universe. 

Joining Mackie in the main cast are Danny Ramirez, who reprises his role as Joaquin Torres The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, Shira Haas (Unorthodox), Giancarlo Esposito (The Boys), Tim Blake Nelson (Watchmen), and Harrison Ford (1923). Liv Tyler also returns as Betty Ross, a role she played in 2008’s The Incredible Hulk (with Edward Norton playing Bruce Banner).

Originally titled Captain America: New World Order, the new Captain America movie was first announced in 2022 at the San Diego Comic-Con. The subtitle was replaced with “Brave New World” during filming.

Harrison Ford, meanwhile, replaces William Hurt as the newly elected President Thaddeus Ross / Red Hulk. Liv Tyler also returns to play the role of Betty Ross. 

Marvel Studios’ Captain America Brave New World is directed by Julius Onah, which he also co-wrote with Rob Edwards, Malcolm Spellman, Dalan Musson, and Peter Glanz.
