What is Untruth: The Psychology of Trumpism about?
The title pretty much covers what the documentary is about — an exploration of the psychological and political phenomena surrounding Trump’s political movement we now know as “Trumpism”. It examines the rise of Trumpism and how it would potentially impact America’s future.
Massive and Influential, Trump’s ideologies and those of his political base shaped modern politics in the US. Trumpism, however, is also laced with widespread acts of misinformation that manipulated voters and instigated divisions within the country.
Featuring interviews with a diverse group of experts, they discuss how authoritarian dictators go to great and questionable lengths to secure power, as well as the strategies they put into play to establish support for themselves, resulting in a major shift in political and social perspectives.
The new Donald Trump documentary was directed by Dan Partland, who also produced the documentary with Art Horan. Bronson Park Films and Doc Shop Productions served as production companies while Dark Star Pictures distributed. It streams exclusively on DocPlay in Australia.
The earlier docufilm, 2020’s Unfit: The Psychology of Donald Trump, was a commercial success, viewed by millions around the world.
