Twisters, a new exhilarating movie about tornadoes and the people who chase them, is now streaming in Australia.
Twister, which starred Helen Hunt and Bill Paxton, is an iconic disaster film that premiered nearly 30 years ago. Despite the movie’s incredible commercial success, no sequels were made afterwards – that is until 2024’s Twisters, a standalone sequel starring Glen Powell and Daisy Edgar-Jones.

What is the plot of the new Twisters movie?
Kate Cooper (Daisy Edgar-Jones) is a former storm chaser with a traumatic tornado encounter in her college years. In the present, she studies storm patterns in an office in New York City, having vowed to leave the storm chasing life.
The arrival of a new tracking system, however, brings the reluctant Kate to the open plains with her friend Javi (Anthony Ramos). There, she instantly crosses paths with Tyler Owens (Glen Powell), a social media celebrity whose fame came from his storm-chasing adventures.
Kate and Tyler are clearly opposing forces with the former disapproving of Tyler and his team’s reckless ways of chasing tornadoes. But with multiple systems coming together to deliver a deadly blow, the ex-storm chaser and the social media superstar must join forces to survive their most frightening, chaotic storm season ever.
Twisters (2024) is directed by Lee Isaac Chung from a screenplay written by Mark L. Smith. Frank Marshall and Patrick Crowley serve as producers.
