Goosebumps, R.L. Stine’s iconic book series is making a comeback this year with Disney+’s upcoming horror comedy show, 2023’s Goosebumps TV series. Unlike the Goosebumps series that aired in the ’90s, the remake won’t be an anthology series; instead focusing on a single storyline comprising 10 episodes of mashed up Goosebumps stories. Rob Letterman, who directed the film Ghostbusters 2 in 2015, developed the series alongside The Muppets co-writer Nicholas Stoller.
Confirmed to premiere in October, here’s everything to know about the new Ghostbusters TV series, including release date, cast details, trailer, and where to watch it in Australia.

Goosebumps TV series preview
Based on the Goosebumps books of the same name, this 2023 reboot follows the shadowy and twisted journey of a group of five high schoolers. After they unleash supernatural forces that end up plaguing their town, they find themselves unearthing dark secrets, which also include their own parents’ teenage secrets.
It all begins when they delve deeper into the death of a teen named Harold Biddle 30 years ago. As buried secrets have always proven to backfire big time when dug up recklessly, the results are catastrophic on a supernatural level. And, if past shows and movies are anything to go by, we’re also in for a hilarious adventure.
The new Goosebumps series incorporates elements drawn from five of Stine’s most beloved stories: Say Cheese and Die! , The Haunted Mask, The Cuckoo Clock of Doom, Go Eat Worms! and Night of the Living Dummy, something that lifelong fans nostalgic for such stories can look forward to seeing on the small screen.
The reboot of R.L. Stine’s Ghostbusters franchise, considered to be a pop culture phenomenon, is produced by Sony Pictures alongside Original Film and Scholastic Entertainment for Disney+ and Hulu.
