How to watch World’s Best (2023) in Australia
The World’s Best tells the story of Prem Patel, an exceptionally talented mathematician. While everyone already assumes the direction he’ll be taking, which is what happens when he constantly dominates Math competitions, he actually has a non-Math secret obsession: to become a rap superstar just like his father.
Armed with his newfound determination to achieve multiple goals and imaginary appearances from his recently deceased father, Prem takes on new challenges to pursue a dream he didn’t know he had all along.
The hip-hop comedy film is directed by Roshan Sethi and stars Manny Magnus as Prem and Utkarsh Ambudkar as his father, Suresh. With music heavily embedded into its narrative, the film also features a collection of original songs, adding an amazing energy to the story. World’s Best also marks the first time featuring a South Asian family at the core of a Disney film.
Ambudkar, a famous rapper and creative force in his own right from a young age, brings his incredible talent to the forefront, showcasing his skills as both an actor and a musician. Ambudkar’s debut album as a solo artist even serves as the backdrop for the film, immersing audiences in the vibrant world of hip hop.
