Champions League Final 2018 Preview
The Champions League began back in the mid 1950’s, back then known as the European Cup, where it originally featured sixteen teams, mostly from outside the UK, with Real Madrid dominating the early years. Quite a remarkable achievement for Zinedine Zidane and his squad, who have been the dominant force in European Football for a number of years. Liverpool has had somewhat of a fairy tale run after their Europa League win last year. Their Semi Final against Roma was just remarkable. Jugen Klopp’s men love to have their backs against the wall and this will be a classic example. He does have star power, with James Milner and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain firing lately, but they’ll want to be very good to beat the likes of Ramos, Benzema and Ronaldo. Ronaldo’s form in the Champions League has been unbelievable and is tipped once again to win another Ballon D’or, his sixth, as the best player in the world and has scored the most goals in Champions League history, currently sitting on 120. It shapes up to be a must-see TV.

Real Madrid Players To Watch
The focus is all about Christiano Ronaldo. The big question mark this season is whether or not his brilliance, whether it be his pace or goal scoring, would decline. To an extent it has, but his spacial awareness and unbelievable precision to find clear air at the right time for a goal scoring chance still makes him one of the most dangerous players in the world. The bad injury he suffered during Euro2016 hasn’t effected him it would seem and he is still a major measuring point as to how successful Real will be this season.
Karim Benzema has had an injury plagued career, but last season was clearly one of his best, scoring at nearly a goal a game, a remarkable record for any goal scorer. He had a stack of injuries last season, seven to be precise, meaning he missed close to 20 games. He is such an important player for Real and if he can stay somewhat injury free, he could have an equally as impressive season compared to last.
Gareth Bale was often jeered and booed last season for Real Madrid, but I think fans are soon realising just how important he is to the success of the club.
