What’s in this Guide?
Make It At Market premise
This exciting new series is filmed in the picturesque Leicestershire countryside, in the secret grounds of Stoneywell – the country residence of Leicester industrialist, Sydney Gimson, which was designed by his brother Ernest Gimson.
The idyllic location of Make It At Market offers a range of versatile existing spaces such as the hidden gem, Stoneywell gardens, that are perfect workable spaces for the show’s talented craftspeople.
In addition to the original workshop where Donald Gimson once honed his woodworking hobby, the team also utilised specially constructed sets for some of the challenges posed during the series.
These sets were carefully made by the set designers to reflect the beauty of the surrounding garden and cottage, inspiring design and providing a charming backdrop for the amateur makers’ creations.
Throughout the series, Dom Chinea and his team will set a variety of challenges to assess the group of budding entrepreneurs’ skills and creativity. They’ll also explore different strategies and business plan to determine the best fit for each maker.
