The Lord family’s criminal heyday may be over but it doesn’t mean that they don’t miss it. So when a twisted opportunity comes knocking, they gladly let it in, hoping to reclaim their former glory. Titled A Town Called Malice, from the early 1980s hit song by The Jam, the new series is created by Nick Love (Bulletproof) for Sky Max. It also features a stellar line-up of cast that includes Jack Rowan (Noughts + Crosses), Tahirah Sharif (The Tower), Jason Flemyng (Snatch), and Martha Plimpton (The Good Wife).

How to watch A Town Called Malice in Australia

Set in the 1980s, the Lords – a family of South London gangsters ditch the UK to reinvent themselves in Costa del Sol, Spain, where Gene, the youngest of the family, runs off to after getting himself in trouble with the authorities. While Gene and his fiancée Cindy strive to avoid any more trouble, they become aggravatingly entangled in the local underworld, prompting the rest of the Lord family to follow. What happens next is an audacious tale mixing crime thriller and family saga with the nostalgic music of the 1980s to boot.

Directed by Jamie Donoughue, Joasia Goldyn, and Sean Spencer, A Town Called Malice is a Sky Max Original and a collaboration between Vertigo Films, Rogue State, and Sky Studios.

In Australia, the new crime thriller will be broadcast by Foxtel and BINGE.
