The comedy series starring Sofia Black-D’Elia, Single Drunk Female, is returning for its highly anticipated second season in April. It tells the story of Samantha Fink, an alcoholic who’s forced to move back home with her mother after a very public, uber embarrassing meltdown. Feeling like she’s hit rock bottom, she strives to figure out how to be a better version of herself, especially when confronted with a major part of her past that drove her to alcohol addiction in the first place. Single Drunk Female Season 2 preview
A public flame-out forces 20-something alcoholic Samantha Fink to return home with her overbearing mother Carol, just so she could avoid jail time. However, being back only provides her all the triggers that made her drink, which makes it harder for her to abandon her worst self. But with a little bit of determination and the support of her family and friends, she might just make it and finally figure out her best self.
In Season 2, Sam finally feels that things are working out for her, even if it’s just bit by bit. She has been sober for a year and a half, which is definitely something that’s worth celebrating (sans the drinks). But just as she eases her way towards her new life, she discovers there are moments and events that can still take her by surprise, and so she must carry on and be her most resilient self.
Single Drunk Female is created by Simone Finch, who also serves as an executive producer alongside Phil Traill, Nora Silver, Leslye Headland, Jenni Konner, and Daisy Gardner. In addition to its main cast headlined by Black-D’Elia, Single Drunk Female Season 2 will feature Busy Philipps (Girls5eva) and Ricky Velez (The King of Staten Island) as recurring characters. Charlie Hall (The Sex Lives of College Girls), who plays Sam’s ex-boyfriend Joel, will also reprise his role in the second season.
