It follows a once reputable journalist who, wanting to escape her past after being discredited, decides to leave her high profile New York life behind to join a daily metro newspaper in Anchorage, Alaska. Finally starting with a clean slate, her venture into local publication ends up being the personal and professional redemption she needs as she unravels a mysterious case and rebuilds her reputation.

Alaska Daily TV series preview
In Alaska Daily, Hilary Swank stars as Eileen Fitzgerald, a brilliant and award-winning investigative journalist with a distinguished career in New York. Her success, however, does not exempt her from being disgraced, which is exactly what happened after publishing a major story with only one anonymous source.
Leaving her career in shambles, she joins a daily metro newspaper in Anchorage, the Daily Alaskan, in the hopes of starting anew, and maybe even rectifying the wrongs she has committed in the past.
There, she takes on the case of missing and murdered indigenous women, a crisis that has been plaguing the city for some time now and endangering the lives of local women. Giving Eileen a lead in these cases are Daily Alaskan reporters Roz Friendly, Bob Young, and their managing editor Stanley Kornik.
Alaska Daily is created by Tom McCarthy, who also serves as an executive producer. Meanwhile, Hilary Swank, Melissa Wells, Bert Salke, Kyle Hopkins (Anchorage Daily News), Ryan Binkley (Anchorage Daily News) and Peter Elkoff are executive producers on the show.
