Swarm TV series preview
Swarm follows Dre, a girl whose obsession with a pop star takes a dark turn, her utmost passion turning into a delusion. There’s not much information pertaining to its plot, though the trailer hints at bizarre terror as Dre is shown in unsettling scenes while a cover of the Pixies classic “Where Is My Mind” plays in the background.
Descending further into her obsession with a fictional pop star, she asks: “Who is your favorite artist?” Swarm is said to be loosely based on Beyoncé and her over the top fanbase.
Starring Dominique Fishback (Judas and the Black Messiah), the series also features singer-songwriter Chlöe Bailey as Dre’s sister, Marissa, and Damson Idris (Snowfall) as Marissa’s boyfriend. Adding to the show’s dynamic cast are Paris Jackson, Rickey Thompson, Byron Bowers, Kiersey Clemons, and Rory Culkin.
Creators Donald Glover and Janine Nabers are also executive producers. Stephen Glover, Fam Udeorji, Steven Prinz, and Michael Schaefer serve as executive producers as well. Malia Obama, daughter of former President Barack Obama and Michelle Obama, also co-wrote an episode in the series.
