Danielle Macdonald stars as Millie Cantwell, a young woman with a lucrative career who’s feeling uninspired by the direction that her life is taking. To rectify this discontent, she decides to leave her unfulfilling job and finally chase her forever dream of becoming an opera singer.
She even moves away from her unsupportive, long-term boyfriend to travel to the Scottish highlands. There, she receives intense vocal training lessons from Meghan Geoffrey-Bishop (Joanna Lumley), a former opera diva with a training technique so unique, relentless, and a little bit scary.
She also meets Max (Hugh Skinner), one of Meghan’s students. Starting their relationship as rivals, the competition between Mille and Max gradually evolves into something else. Together, they prepare for the upcoming “Singer of Renown” contest, giving their all in their attempt to discover more in love and life.
A treat for romantic comedy fans and opera lovers, Falling for Figaro is directed by Ben Lewin from a screenplay that Lewin also co-wrote with Allen Palmer. In addition to Danielle Macdonald (Bird Box, The Tourist), Joanna Lumley (Absolutely Fabulous, Finding Alice), and Hugh Skinner (The Windsors, Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again), it also stars Gary Lewis (Outlander), and Shazad Latif (Star Trek: Discovery).

Falling for Figaro release date Australia
Falling for Figaro was released in Australian theatres on 14th July 2022. Those who wanted to stream the movie online were able to do so after it became available on pay-per-view.
As for other options, the film will be available to stream online as part of a subscription via Foxtel and Foxtel Now, which broadcasts the film from 4th March 2023 on Movies Premiere.
