Adding to the highly fun and adorable Despicable Me franchise is 2022’s Minions: The Rise of Gru, sequel to the spin-off prequel Minions. In the new film, we meet a young Gru wanting to cement his villain status by joining a group of supervillain, Vicious 6, right after they got rid of their leader, super cool fighter Wild Knuckles.
Eager to join them, Gru hatches a plan to impress the bad guys, only it backfired and now he’s on the run with the villains he once adores in pursuit. One of the highest-grossing movies of the year, Minions: The Rise of Gru finally makes its streaming premiere in Australia. Find out how you can watch online using this guide.

Minions: The Rise of Gru preview
If there’s one thing in the world that Gru (Steve Carell) wants, it’s to become a supervillain. So imagine his wild surprise and excitement when he gets the chance to audition for a spot in Vicious 6, a supervillain team now led by Belle Bottom (Taraji P. Henson) after they betrayed their leader, legendary fighter Wild Knuckles.
Gru interviews for the new villain position but was not treated seriously. To prove them wrong, Gru outsmarts them and steals something very valuable, making himself their new mortal enemy. While on the run, his dedicated minions, Kevin, Stuart, Bob, and Otto – a new minion sporting braces armed with a desperate yearning to please – scheme a plan on their own to help their mini boss.
The minions hatching a plan already seems like a disaster in the works, and it’s more likely that they’ll make problems worse – to hilarious effects – not fix them. But with some Kung Fu training, unexpected allies, and impromptu plane flying, Gru and his minions will defeat the enemies. They just don’t know it yet.
