Gold Rush star Parker Schnabel attempts the seemingly impossible quest of taking on the legendary Klondike Gold Rush trail in this spin-off, Gold Rush: Parker’s Trail. Joining him in his arduous journey are his friends – foreman Rick Ness, wilderness guide Karla Ann, and cameraman James Levelle. Together, they trek across the Coastal Range, leading up to their destination: the famous goldfields of the Klondike.
What’s in this Guide?
Gold Rush: Parker’s Trail preview
Parker Schnabel and Rick Ness attempt the dangerous trail to riches by going over the Chilkoot Pass and up the Yukon River to Dawson City. The end goal? To ultimately reach the heart of the 1897 Klondike Gold Rush, undergoing the same journey that killed thousands of brave souls in the late 19th century.
Parker’s grandfather is mining legend John Schnabel. With mining deeply embedded in his roots and history, Parker has always wondered if he has what it takes to follow in his grandfather’s footsteps. Not only does he want to further push the envelope of what’s possible, he also wants to honor every legend who had bravely traversed the fabled Klondike trail.
In Season 5, the team expands their quest for gold, making an impromptu trip to New Zealand, the country being the home to big gold and top-notch miners. Parker also stakes a new claim and prospects Matt Dove’s virgin ground located in the country’s southern Alps.
