The 355 movie preview
When a top secret weapon falls into the wrong hands, CIA operative Mason “Mace” Brown (Jessica Chastain) is tasked with the mission to retrieve it. Failure to do so will lead to catastrophic consequences affecting the entire planet. Tracking and recovering the device proves to be difficult, especially with rival German undercover BND agent Marie Schmidt (Diane Kruger) outmaneuvering her at every turn.
Alongside Mace’s long-time friend and former MI6 agent Khadijah Adiyeme (Lupita Nyong’o) and DNI agent and psychologist Graciela Rivera (Penélope Cruz), the rival international agents decide to join forces to secure the device. After their mission brings them to China, the women, who now call themselves The 355, fall into a trap set by unknown forces and their underhanded scheming. A mysterious woman, who later becomes part of the dream team, saves the day. She reveals herself to be Lin Mi Sheng, an MSS agent.
As their enemies begin to unravel, the women forge a tenuous loyalty to orchestrate a breakneck mission to save the world. Titled The 355, it is a reference to Agent 355, a codename of an unknown female spy who fought for the Patriots during the American revolution, a hardly forgettable story that inspired Chastain’s character in the film.
Simon Kinberg, who made his directorial debut in X-Men: Dark Phoenix, directed the conceptually progressive movie. He’s also one of the producers, alongside Jessica Chastain and Kelly Carmichael.
