Meet long time climbing partners Steve Craddock and Greg Lovejoy. The two met in the early 1960's through climbing in the Victoria Climbing Club in Melbourne. Still friends to this day, the two speak to their passion and true love of climbing, and the subsequent friendships climbing brought to each others lives. Steve is commonly known as the ‘founder’ of Arapiles with his father Bob Craddock in 1963 after seeing a picture of the mount on a railway postcard. It took several years for Steve to convince other Victorian climbers to travel the lengthy car ride to Arapiles. Once other climbers caught on years later, the area began to boom and to this day is a major stop on any climbers world tour. Only 4 hours drive from Melbourne, Arapiles is highly regarded in the international climbing community due to its unique sandstone which lends itself to perfect climbing routes. Attracting thousands of climbers from abroad to the Wimmera every year.
