Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald movie preview

In 1927, Albus Dumbledore and his former student, Newt Scamander, join forces to defeat the dark wizard Gellert Grindelwald. Newt thwarted Grindelwald before, making him an important asset to stop any mayhem that the evil wizard is scheming to inflict darkness and pain on the world.

He agrees to help, oblivious of the perils that lie ahead. Naturally, their efforts to take down Grindelwald bring about new dangers and more fearsome enemies in an increasingly divided wizarding world.

In the beginning of the film, the Magical Congress of the United States of America moves Grindelwald to Europe where he’s scheduled to stand trial but he escapes. Meanwhile, the Ministry of Magic searches for Credence Barebone, who unleashes his Obscurus parasite that caused massive destruction in the first film.

Tina Goldstein is tasked to find Credence in Paris while her sister Queenie, who’s in love with one of the non magical beings, Jacob, searches for her. Tina also mistakenly assumes that Newt is engaged to Leta Lestrange, a descendant of pure blood wizards. Their search for Credence uncovers family secrets and more shocking discoveries, ultimately leading them to Grindelwald once again.

Showcasing the wonders of the magic familiar to Harry Potter fans, the sequel is directed by David Yates, who also directed the first film, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. Both movies are prequels to the entire Harry Potter franchise.
