How to watch W Series in Australia

Live streaming Formula 1

Indeed, you don’t have to be a male driver to be a race car driver. In just a few months, the third season of W Series single-seater racing will commence, covering more ground than ever before. W Series will follow F1 for a total of eight Grand Prix weekends this season, including the first-ever race in Asia, as it did last year. In 2022, the W Series will go to five new locations, including the Japanese round at Suzuka.

The series launched in 2019 and gave female drivers the opportunity to compete in events all around the world. Unlike other competitions, the W Series is free to participate, removing a financial barrier that might prevent a female driver from competing. In recent years, there have been a few female test drivers and development drivers (Williams development driver) but they have never competed as racing drivers. It’s designed to ensure that, unlike in Formula One, female drivers have more free racing practice. Susie Wolff, a former Williams F1 test driver, said, “We want to encourage the next generation of young girls.” Moreover, the only woman to score points in Formula One is Lella Lombardi.

2022 W Series preview

The W Series announced its extended association with Formula One, as well as the eight Grand Prix weekends it will compete in in 2022, including the series’ first-ever event in Asia. This means that W Series fans will be able to witness more action while their favourite female drivers prepare their racing cars for the upcoming season.

During its third on-track season, the W Series will visit five new sites, including a round at the Suzuka Circuit in October as part of the Japanese Grand Prix weekend. In 100 days, the season will kick off in support of F1’s debut Miami Grand Prix, which will take place in May at the brand-new Hard Rock Stadium complex in Miami Gardens, Florida, USA.
