Doom Patrol preview
Doom Patrol follows a group of reluctant heroes who suffered horrible accidents in the past. The traumas they’ve experienced not only haunt them until now, but also gave them superhuman abilities. Unlike other superheroes, they struggle with their roles as so-called saviours, especially when they’re shunned by society for their bizarre powers.
As their “superpowers” were caused by freak accidents, the members of the team generally yearn for their old lives, hence, they’re always conflicted with their roles and purpose. Helping them physically recover and deal with their internal struggles was the idealistic mad scientist, The Chief. Together, they investigate the world’s weirdest phenomena and save the planet when the need for it arises.
In the third season, the group had to deal with The Chief’s death as a result of Dorothy’s battle with the Candlemaker. But even in their grief, they couldn’t even process their sorrow properly as they were forced to face all kinds of otherworldly afflictions, ultimately experiencing death themselves.
And no, it doesn’t make it “the end” as they go to purgatory, and then hell, only to escape with the help of Dead Detective Boys. And nope, still not the end. They became zombies afterwards and, ironically, the only way to revert to their human forms was to eat the Chief’s brains.
In Season 4, the team unexpectedly travels to the future where they find a bigger complication. With their existence threatened, they must choose what matters more to them once for all – their old lives back or saving the world. Fans of the series will also see new faces joining the cast of the fourth season with Madeline Zima (Californication, Heroes) playing the character of Casey Brink and Sendhil Ramamurthy (Heroes, Covert Affairs) portraying the character Mr. 104.

Doom Patrol‘s members are Jane, a woman with dissociative identity disorder; Rita Farr, a former actress struggling to prevent her body from turning to a gelatinous state; Larry Trainor, a former US Air Force pilot with a negative energy inside him; Cliff Steele, former NASCAR driver who’s now inside a robotic body; and Cyborg, a superhero with cybernetic enhancements.

The fourth season premiered with two episodes in Australia on 8 December 2022. New episodes then streamed weekly until 5 January 2023 for its mid-season finale.
